Job Description

Essential Job Functions
Responsible for various aspect of search engine optimization (SEO) for the various websites owned by SumTotal
Responsible for getting good ranking of SumTotal’s websites in the Top 3 search engines for targeted keywords compared to competitors
Stay current on emerging search developments and maintain awareness of various SEO resources and tools
Evangelize and educate about search capabilities and new web based technologies internally to the marketing team
Monitor and analyze website traffic and provide appropriate suggestions for improving the traffic and stickiness
Perform analysis of competitor’s web presence and stay one step ahead of them
Constantly review web functionality with a view to improve user experience
Work closely with Webmaster and the Corporate Marketing team to drive lead generation through the Website and integrate marketing campaigns
Strategically building of landing pages for better lead conversion rates and testing it using A/B split test and multivariate testing techniques
Coordinate with third-party vendors for integrating web applications and/or link building Knowledge , Skills, and Abilities.
Experience in Internet Marketing – Search Engine Optimization, email campaigns, PPC campaigns etc
Previous experience managing a corporate Website
Knowledge of the search engine space and SEO best practices including paid vs. SEO tactics, keyword analysis, title and meta-tag coding, link building, domain issues, page analysis, site redirection, dynamic site indexing, copywriting and general troubleshooting
Understanding of search engine trends and search engine algorithms
Experience in deploying Web 2.0 technologies
Excellent knowledge of SEO and web analysis tools used for internet marketing like Web Trends, ClickTracks, Web Positions Pro, Arelis etc
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of HTML and CSS will be an added advantage.

Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelors in Engineering, Information Technology, Management, Business Administration or related field
3+ years involved with SEO including hands-on optimization, link building and website management
